Tomorrow (October 5), the Pitlochry Rural, SWRI, now known as the Scottish Women’s Institute, is celebratin­g its 100th birthday in the Pitlochry Town Hall, when about 65 present and previous members, with invited guest from neighbouri­ng institutes, will enjoy afternoon tea at 2pm for 2.30pm. This special occasion has been supported by funding from last season’s Enchanted Forest, the local Coop in Pitlochry with Hettie’s Tearoom providing the catering.

SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING ST MADOES AND KINFAUNS PARISH CHURCH

Sunday’s morning worship is at 10.30am. The Sunday evening Bible study group is from 7pm to 8pm. All are welcome.

The Bowl of Soup men’s group meets at noon on Monday.

On Tuesday snack group is from 1.30pm.

The new Wednesday Bible study group meets from 11am to noon. Everybody is welcome to join the group.

All events are in the Madoch Centre, unless otherwise stated.

SCONE AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Harvest thanksgivi­ng will be celebrated on Sunday at 10.45am in Scone Old. Gifts can be handed into the church from 2pm on Saturday, October 5 or brought to the service.

Anyone who would like to assist with decorating the church will be very welcome at 2pm on Saturday. Help to deliver the gifts on Sunday will be much appreciate­d.

SENIORS CLUB

Meets at 2.30pm in the RDM Institute on Wednesday, October 9 when the theme will be ‘When we were Young’. All are welcome.

Tickets for the outing on October 23 can be obtained at this meeting.
