Information event on volunteering for CAB
Those interested in volunteering with Perth Citizens’Advice Bureau can attend an information event later this month.
Perth CAB will be holding its event at its offices on 7 Atholl Crescent on Thursday, October 24 from 4pm until 5pm.
Currently Perth CAB is recruiting volunteers for its next adviser training programme, which will start on Thursday, November 28.
A spokesperson for Perth CAB said: “Were it not for our skilled and dedicated volunteers, the bureau could not provide the services it does.
“Volunteers are involved in many aspects of the bureau’s work, but most of our volunteers work as advisers and we are focusing on adviser training for our next training intake.
“Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds with a very wide range of skills and experience.
“Younger volunteers may join us to gain work experience while more mature volunteers may be looking for a new challenge as their family commitments change or following retirement.
“All our volunteers bring something of value to the team and the diversity of our workforce is one of our strengths.
“Initial adviser training is provided for new volunteers through a blend of classroom-based sessions, e-learning and shadowing experienced advisers.
“We also have a comprehensive programme of training throughout the year to help us ensure that our skills and knowledge are kept up to date.”
