Scottish internationalist Lee Wilkie is pitching in to help out Luncarty.

The former Dundee and Dundee United defender was at the Bleachers’ 2-2 home North Super League draw with Broughty Athletic on Saturday to cast an eye over proceedings.

Goals from Robbie Holden and Richard Donavan had the Brownlands Park men set for victory at 2-1 but the visitors netted in the final minute.

“Having Lee Wilkie along to analyse the game will be a huge help to the management team,”said Luncarty coach Danny Murray.

“Lee played with Richie Montgomery and Jon Kelly at Dundee and has agreed to take on some coaching.

“We stuck to our game plan perfectly on Saturday and kept a solid shape throughout, frustrating Broughty and being effective on the counter attack.

“Losing late on was tough for the lads but the positives far out-weighed the negatives. There was lots of heart, desire, work rate and quality.

“It was another improvement from our game against Largs so we’re confident we’ve turned a corner.”

Two late Lochee United goals resulted in a painful 2-1 defeat for fellow North Super League side Scone Thistle in Dundee. The Jags had nudged in front courtesy of an own goal with 20 minutes left, but the hosts netted twice in the final five minutes.

In the North Premier League, Coupar Angus moved up to sixth in the table by defeating Lochee Harp 3-2 at Foxhall Park. Prolific Allan Cruickshank struck twice before a late own goal grabbed the vital three points.

Blairgowrie, meanwhile, lost their unbeaten league record following a 5-1 defeat against East Craigie.
