Celebrations in all the old haunts around city centre

-

Witches, ghosts and ghouls will be roaming the streets of Perth this weekend for the annual Hallowe’en celebrations.

The hauntingly good event takes place in the city centre on Saturday, October 26 with a parade and a fun night.

Kicking off from Horsecross Plaza outside Perth Concert Hall at 6pm, the parade will loop around the city centre and return back down Mill Street for a night of frightening entertainment and spooky activities.

Anyone can take part in the parade, and they will be doing so alongside some human-powered animatronic characters.

A stage will be set up on the plaza as well, with a variety of music and dance acts set to entertain the crowds.

Little ones and adults alike are also encouraged to get dressed up as there will be a fancy dress competition as well, including a pre-school, primary school, high school and adult category.

Those who are really wanting to get a good scare can take part in a haunted tour of Perth, which is being run on the night by History and HorrorTours.

The tours will leave from Horsecross Plaza, and will run throughout the night and cost £3 per person.

In the car park next to Marks and Spencers on Mill Street there will be a zombie maze to tackle, and a fairground will be set up throughout the city centre by Horne’s Pleasure Fairs.

The zombie maze is £3 per person to enter, and most of the rides will have a charge as well.

Food and drink will also be served.

The Hallowe’en celebrations this weekend marks the start of Perth’s annual Winter Festival, which will see a range of outdoor events taking place from now until mid-February, including the Christmas lights switch-on, St Andrew’s Day celebrations and the Riverside light nights at the Norie-Miller Walk on the banks of the River Tay in the New Year.
