Your Do you have memories ofourkeepfitclass?

- Dear editor,

Strawberries and cream at Wimbledon are now a thing of the past, as are strawberries and cream at Methven Tuesday night keep fit class.

We have been going for more years than we care to remember but tradition still insists we end our summer term celebrating with strawberries and cream.

We then celebrate the end of the winter with a special festive fair.

It was when we were chilling and chatting that we realised we have been enjoying keep fit classes in the village for more than 30 years.

We have had a member who was over 80 and the young Scout groups join us as they worked towards their badges.

We, in all those years, have only had four teachers encouraging us to do our best.

We also remember standing round the old Calour gas fire while watching our breath in the cold community centre.

Many things have changed, and the new central heating is very welcome in the beautifully refurbished hall.

But the fun and laughter still remains high on our list of priorities.

Are we the longest active village club? Is there anyone out there who could tell us when we first started?

Any further information would be welcome or any stories you wish to share with us would also be appreciated.

If you would like to come along to the community centre on a Tuesday from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, you don’t need to own the latest designer gear - just bring a mat and come along to enjoy exercising with our qualified instructor.
