BRIDGE OF EARN AND FORGANDENNY
President Lorna welcomed all to the monthly meeting of Auchterarder SWI. A great deal of business was dealt with before the speaker was introduced. As the booked speaker was unwell, their own member, Rosalie Wilkie agreed to give the talk. Her subject was Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, a charity which supports children undergoing treatment for cancer and their families. A second charity, TCCL Lodge, is a holiday house in St Andrews where children and their families can enjoy a holiday. It is fully equipped with everything they need, including toys and games. After the committee served tea, a few games of draw the witch’s hat were played which led to much hilarity and lots of noise. Sheila C proposed the vote of thanks to all who had helped with the meeting. The competition results were: a toffee apple which was won by Mary McGraw, with Noreen Homewood in second place. A small Hallowe’en novelty was won by Rosalie Wilkie, and Sheila Perera came second. Mrs Murchie’s anniversary trophy of a small jar each of lemon curd, plum jam and raspberry jelly was won by Rosalie Wilkie. Flower of the month winner was Mary McGraw.
