One of the UK’s top performers will be coming to Perth next year.

Rob Brydon is taking his‘Songs and Stories’ show on a tour of the country, complete with an eight-piece band.

He will be coming to Perth Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 29 and will be singing, playing music and entertaini­ng with his well-known comedy.

Brydon began his television career with comedy shows‘Marion and Geoff’and‘Human Remains’in 2000, for which he won British Comedy Awards.

Since then, his comedy credits include‘A Small Summer Party’,‘The Keith Barret Show’,‘Director’s Commentary’,‘Supernova’,‘Cruise of the Gods’, ‘Black Books’,‘I’m Alan Partridge’,‘Little Britain’,‘Live at the Apollo’,‘Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive’, ‘QI’,‘The Big Fat Quiz of theYear’,‘Have I Got News forYou’,‘Rob Brydon’s Identity Crisis’and‘Would I Lie toYou?’.

His most famous television stints have been in ‘Gavin and Stacey’and‘The Trip with Steve Coogan’.

This show, however, will be a change from what people might know him best for.

The songs which will be performed include Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstei­n, Paul Simon and Tom Waits. He said:“It will take some people by surprise. “There are so many media outlets nowadays that some people might only know me from ‘Gavin and Stacey’or‘Would I Lie toYou?’.

“Those people often stay to me,‘I didn’t know you could sing’, and yet I have sung a lot.

Brydon reached number one in the UK charts in 2009 with the charity single‘(Barry) Islands in the Stream’.

The single was in aid of Comic Relief and was sung alongside Ruth Jones, Robin Gibb and Sir Tom Jones.
