Appeal to find missing dog Eddie

-

The owners of a dog that vanished after being scared by a gunshot continue to ask people to search for their pet.

Eddie the Australian shepherd dog went missing on Saturday, October 26 at around 3.10pm at Rumbling Bridge, which is near the Hermitage at Dunkeld.

The family was visiting Perthshire from Glasgow, so Eddie was not familiar with the area. When a gunshot went off nearby he got a fright and took off.

The dog is microchipped and was wearing his red tartan collar when he went missing. He also had a red bandage on his front leg. His owners are frantic to find him, having not seen him for nearly a week now.

The incident happened very quickly and they do not know where he went when he ran off.

Missing Pets Perth and Kinross on Facebook has helped co-ordinate volunteers to do what they can to reunite Eddie with his family.

Sadly there have been no sightings since he went missing.

Katie McCandless Thomas who runs the pets page said: “Searches have been conducted daily to look for Eddie by foot and even by a drone pilot who has a number of years experience in searching with his drone for missing dogs.

“One gentleman who is actually on holiday in the area has given a lot of his time to search for Eddie and has set up camp near to where Eddie has gone missing and has even delayed returning home as he wants to help, which is just incredibly kind of him.

“Eddie’s family, who are not from the area, were through from Glasgow for the day when Eddie went missing.

“So many people in the local community have given support by putting up missing posters and helping cover miles of ground, using their knowledge of the area in case Eddie has wandered further away from the point he went missing.

“Eddie’s family are extremely touched by everyone’s kindness in the search for their boy.”
