The society’s next meeting will be held on Monday, November 18. The speaker, Dr Fiona Watson MA PhD, will give a talk on ‘Searching for the Real Macbeth.’ It will be a romp through the life and times of Scotland’s most notorious king. The meeting will take place at Kinross Parish Church in Station Road, Kinross, starting at 7.30pm. Membership costs: £7.50 with free admission for under 18s; visitors £3 per talk.

The health centre was very happy with the response to its recent flu clinic, where 657 jags were given freeing up a massive amount of appointmen­ts with doctors at the surgery. The total raised for refreshmen­ts was £225 which was divided between Newburgh in Bloom and TICC flowers.

ARTHRITIS AWARENESS IN ATHOLL

There was a good turnout of members and friends at the recent meeting of the Arthritis Awareness in Atholl group in Moulin Hall. The speaker, Elizabeth Newman, artistic director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, talked about the future plans for the theatre. Her remit is selecting and directing plays with an emphasis on comedy. PITLOCHRY FLOWER CLUB

Millie Christie will be the demonstrat­or at the next meeting of Pitlochry Flower Club on November 13. Her demonstrat­ion will be entitled ‘Wish You Were Here.’ The meetings are held in the Hydro Hotel in Pitlochry at 2pm with visitors welcome.
