Family’s tribute to tragic dad Graeme

Man is charged over death

Tributes have been paid to a 47-year-old man who was found dead at his home in Perth.

Father-of-three Graeme Hughes was discovered at the property Uist Place at around 7pm on Monday, November 4.

Tributes have been paid to the Perth man on social media.

His aunt Fiona Kaszta posted on Facebook saying: “I can’t get my head around this, fly high my boy.

“It’s like a bad dream, just can’t take it in.

“I never thought we would be laying any nephew or niece before ourself, it’s going to be very, very hard.

“He lit up a room the minute he walked in and was always the joker.

“He will be sorely missed by all family and friends.”

Since the discovery of Graeme’s body, James Williamson (31) has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

He appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Wednesday, November 6 charged with culpable homicide, assault and two counts of threatenin­g and abusive behaviour.

Williamson made no plea during the private hearing and was remanded in custody.

He is due to make a followup appearance at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 14.

Police officers are now appealing to members of the public for more informatio­n to help them with their investigat­ion into Mr Hughes’s death.

They are keen to trace his final steps on the day he died.

Detective Inspector Keith Duncan, the senior investigat­ing officer, said: “Our enquiries continue and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area of Uist Place around 3.30pm on Monday, November 4.

“We are also looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the areas of Uist Place, Bute Drive and Stroma Court, between 3.45pm and 6.30pm that day and could have seen Graeme, who was wearing a grey hooded top and dark bottoms.”
