support.

“I can’t thank them enough and for giving me the support and encouragement.

“I am going to miss the people, the wildlife and the great open spaces.

“Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park and all that’s in it is a wonderful place and I’m going to miss living in it but sometimes things in life take over.”

David will make a short return to Kinnoull Hill in January for the next project where the group will be planting four new trees.

He may also volunteer with Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels (SSRS) in the future.

Former chairman of the group, Norman Renfrew, feels David “will be sorely missed” by the Kinnoull community.

He added: “Had it not been for David and Kirsty coming on the scene I am certain there would not be any group now, since it was just on the verge of a special meeting to wind it up.”

Perth City Centre ward councillor, Andrew Parrott, added: “It’s sad to see that family commitments mean David Wood has to move away from Perth to Aberdeen.

“I would just like to thank him very much for his commitment to the Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park Group over so many years.”

The group’s AGM will take place on Wednesday, November 20 at 7.30pm at Gannochy Community Hall.
