Xmas trees on display
There will be a large display of themed Christmas trees at a Perthshire church later this month.
Pitlochry’s Church of Scotland is holding its seventh annual Christmas tree festival on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1.
Residents, businesses, voluntary organisations and charities are all encouraged to provide a real or artificial Christmas tree decorated to their interests for the festival.
All of the decorated trees will be on public display in the church over the course of the weekend.
However, the trees will stay up throughout December and will be able to be viewed during church services, including on Christmas Day.
On the Saturday, there will be a festive craft and produce market as well as refreshments and children’s crafts in the church’s Tryst.
Santa is expected to drop by at the market on the Saturday as well.
And on the Sunday, there will be a Christmas carol concert at 6.30pm to mark the end of the festival.
At the concert, the winner of the best tree competition will be announced, and details of how much money has been raised will be revealed.
The two charities set to benefit from this year’s festival are the Den @ Heartland Children’s Club and Shelter Scotland.
The festival will be open from 10am until 3pm on the Saturday and from 2pm until 4pm on the Sunday.
A spokesperson said:“Enjoy what will be a magical, colourful, interesting and innovative display of decorated Christmas trees, all illustrating different themes captivating the hearts and imaginations of children and adults alike.”
