Airborne Alliance help five fab causes

-

The Perth Branch of the Airborne Alliance was delighted to hand out cash to five worthy local causes at its October 26 branch meeting at the Exservicemen’s Club.

Every year in June, the branch holds a fundraising afternoon at the club in Perth where it hosts a lunch for members and guests which includes entertainment, an auction and raffle to raise money. Five charities benefit every year.

The Airbourne Alliance also uses the money raised to help ex airborne soldiers who need some financial assistance.

Perth Airborne Alliance members made three cheque donations of £200 each to the Perth Dementia

Cafe, the Perth Breast Cancer Support Group and the Perth Branch for Parkinson’s.

Two more causes also benefited: Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance got presented with £200, and Fairview School in Perth got an extra boost when the alliance chair Kenny Banks added £500 of his own money to the £200 the special school was due to recieve from the ex-forces group. Businessman Kenny said he“was moved to act”after visiting with the club.“

He added:“When I saw the kids there and the dedicated commitment of the specialist teachers, I wanted to do all I could to further their activities at Fairview.

The Airborne Alliance went to see Fairview School, which received £700 in total after chair Kenny Banks was moved to add £500 of his own to the cheque

“It is an amazing place, we are lucky to have this school in Perth.”

Any ex-airborne or military forces who would like to join the club, contact Kenny Banks, kenbanks@ aol.com or meet in the Perth Ex-servicemen’s Club on the last Saturday of the month at 3pm.
