DUNBARNEY AND FORGANDENN­Y CHURCH

Volunteers are invited to a coffee morning tomorrow in the church hall, between 10am and 11.30am. Ron Smith will be coming along to give an update on the refurbishm­ent of the church. Coffee and scones will be served, followed by a question and answer session. Services on Sunday are at the usual times - 9.30am in Dunbarney and 11am at Forgandenn­y. All welcome. The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated in both churches next Sunday, December 1. The Dunbarney service is at 9.30am and the Forgandenn­y service is at 11am. The deadline for articles for the church magazine is this Sunday. Please email articles to sandlinds@btinternet.com. The retiring collection­s at the Remembranc­e Day services raised £299.26 for Poppyscotl­and. The money collected from the poppy cans in Bridge of Earn and Forgandenn­y amounted to £1317.36. Organisers thank everyone for their generosity. Thanks is given to all who made soups and delicious desserts, waited on tables and came along and supported the women’s group’s hot and hearty lunch last Sunday. A total of £278.50 was raised for LoveOliver. Carpet bowls will meet on Monday, November 25 in the church hall at 2pm. All are welcome for a fun afternoon of bowling. SCOUT GROUP

The sacrament of communion was celebrated during morning worship last Sunday. The service was led by the Rev Stevie Thomson and Lynne Mitchell was the organist. Sheena McNaughton read from the Gospel of Luke chapter 21, verses 5-19. Flowers were provided by Pauline MacAskill. The Christmas box will be in the church until December 16. Gifts should be wrapped and labelled with the suitable age and gender of the recipient. These will then be delivered to the Salvation Army in Perth. Burrelton and Woodside youth club will deliver mail, at a cost of 20p per envelope, until December 23. Collection boxes will be available in the church and church halls with an honesty box for payment. All proceeds will go to youth club funds. Busy Bees now meet on Thursdays in the church halls in Woodside between 10am and 11.15am. The next meeting of the Guild is on December 12 at 2pm. Martin Payne will give a presentati­on on Venice - a city in crisis. All welcome.
