All set to give Coldstream frosty welcome

-

Kinnoull manager Alan Cameron will be urging his players to come out of the blocks at pace this weekend.

The Perth side have now been without game for the last three weekends due to unplayable pitches and a cancellation.

Cameron has highlighted the importance of giving visitors Coldstream a frosty reception in the early stages of Saturday’s league game.

“I don’t know too much about

Coldstream to be perfectly honest,”he said ahead of the Tulloch Park clash. “I’ve watched out for their results.

“I’m sure they will come up here, will be a decent side and will set themselves up well to frustrate us.

“But it’s a home game so the onus is on us to take the game to them. We were working on that last week and have been doing more this week.

“We need to really get out of the blocks. We seem to be quite slow in starting and we’re wanting to put the opposition under pressure.”

Another week without competitive action has helped in some way, with players getting back up to full speed in training.

“It was very frustrating again and we seem to be piling up the games,” Cameron said.“It’s given another week for one or two to get back to fitness.

“It’s a double-edge sword because we would have liked the game to be on, but it’s just one of those things.

“Shaun Simpson has been back training this week having been out and Liam Woolley has resumed training but is not 100 per cent.

“I’ll be missing goalkeeper Gordon Chalmers, but Rhys Davies trained on Monday so should be fine for Saturday. We should have a squad of 16 or 17.”

Cameron added:“It seems to have been milder so we’re a bit more hopeful the game will be on. It’s just whether the frost comes out the ground.

“The pitch was rock solid on Monday, covered completely white.

“But on Wednesday there was a bit of rain so I’m hoping with a few milder days we’ll be good to go.”
