Woolley quick to sign Kinnoull contract

-

Kinnoull’s Liam Woolley has sights set on continuing the club’s rise up the footballing ladder after penning a new deal this week.

The central defender delighted Tulloch Park officials by extending his stay for next season and he revealed it was an easy decision.

Club captain Woolley said:“Knowing the people in and around the club makes it a lot easier when deciding to continue on for another year.

“Being local to the club, it’s a good fit for me personally and I was happy to extend knowing the hard work that’s going on behind the scenes.

“And also the steps the club has taken over the last few years, stepping into the East of Scotland League.

“For me, I feel like the club is going in the right direction and I wanted to continue in trying to help them stepping forward.

“A few of the players have extended in recent weeks and it’s a big boost for the club. The club can now focus on adding more talent to an already talented squad.

“It will only help when planning for next season, knowing a foundation of players is already in place.”

Kinnoull are on their travels tomorrow and face an inter-conference league match against Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts.

“Looking at the teams we have played in the East of Scotland League, I feel we have stepped up a level from the Junior set-up,”Woolley added.

“You notice the organisation of other teams being more difficult to play against.

“And anyone from the bottom to the top of the league can take points off you, so you know each game you have to give your all to get something.

“I think our switch to the league has gone well but we just need to focus on the next game.

“Inverkeithing are a good side. They are currently second in their division, so straight off we have to be ready for a difficult game.

“Having played them in pre-season we know what they are capable of. We will have to be right at it.”
