Perthshire schoolchildren and their families will get to dance with visitors from Ghana in their local village hall.

The Muthill Primary headteacher Keri Reid has visited Ghana many times and been awarded an MBE for encouraging a worthwhile exchange and her efforts to give her school an international outlook.

A talented Perth musician is celebrating after winning a top award.
Beth Malcolm (22) came away with the coveted Danny Kyle award at this year’s Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.
The award aims to recognise the best young talent in the Scottish folk scene, with previous winners including big names such as Karine Polwart.
Having started out gigging in restaurants around Perth, Beth feels this win has really put her name firmly onto the Scottish folk scene.
She said: “Danny Kyle was a great promoter of Scottish folk music, particularly for young people.
“When he died, Celtic Connections set up this competition to promote new bands and they all each get a 20-minute slot.
“I applied online and there are a

Now there is growing anticipation about the cultural fun the night of dancing will bring.
“On Wednesday, March 4 we’re going to hold a community ceilidh in Muthill Village Hall, from 6pm to 8pm,” explained Ms Reid.
“Everyone is invited and we hope to participate in Scottish dancing and try a wee bit of Ghanaian dancing too.”
The following day on March 5, Chief Suleman Chebe, a tribal leader from Ghana and professional drummer, writer and storyteller based in Scotland has agreed to come and lead a Fair Trade Day in the school with drumming, games and activities all day.
