Countless numbers of people are being helped by a hard-working Perth charity.

CATH not only helps homeless people find accommodation, but it also supports scores of locals to maintain their tenancies and reintegrate themselves back into society.

As well as supporting residents in their own homes with thing such as budgeting and learning how to manage their accommodation, they also have a sheltered hostel on Shore Road and a day centre to help people get a good meal and learn new skills.

Graham Taylor, head of services for CATH, said: “Obviously we work with people who are affected by homelessness, but we have a whole host of projects.

“A lot of the people who come into Tayview have mental health issues or substance use issues, and we try to offer them a place to stay and give them the skills to try and look after their own health and wellbeing.

“But we still work with them on things such as budgeting and how to keep their accommodation clean and tidy.”

As well as the floating housing service and the hostel, CATH also runs a day centre at the Ladeside.

Graham continued: “The day centre is where people can drop in and get help from dedicated support workers on how to manage their bills and go through their issues, and it is also a place to get their breakfast and lunch every day.

“At the day centre people can take part in a wide range of activities that look at physical health as well as intellectual wellbeing.

“The aim of these groups is to
