Enduro team test will be a cracker

-

The UK’s first team enduro event is penned in for Perthshire.

Muckmedden Events is preparing to give the mountain bike enduro scene a shot in the arm with Clans at the Croft on April 3 and 4.

The action will be staged at Comrie Croft and has been inspired by the Enduro World Series Trophy of Nations team event, introduced in 2019.

The new addition to the race calendar will give riders the opportunity to get their solo race times. And they are also being encouraged to join forces with two other riders and to race as a team in the event’s‘clan’category.

The Muckmedden team, who are also behind the Fair City Enduro in Perth, are promising another stand-out weekend of action.

Race organiser Aaron Gray from Muckmedden Events said:“Racing as a team of three will add a level of strategy that you won’t find in a regular enduro.

“Clan riders will have to race in close-formation and the team’s tactics and combined skills will count towards their overall result.

“The croft is well-known for having an extensive network of trails and a fantastic campsite. There’s no better place in the UK to host.

“In the evening, once the racing is over, we’ll have music, a licensed bar and a party in the big tent so we’re hoping riders will bring their friends and families.”

More than fifty per cent of race entries have sold already and riders wishing to attend are being urged to book as soon as possible.

Chris Ball, managing director of the enduro World Series, said:“We were blown away by the response to our first team event in 2019, the Trophy of Nations in Italy. I’d encourage anyone thinking about entering Clans at the Croft to go for it.”
