The minister and her husband shared the service in Caputh church on Sunday, February 23 with Fiona Bain, organist and Jane Gordon the reader.

Morning service will be in Clunie church this Sunday, March 1 at 11.15am. The World Day of Prayer service will be hosted by Kinclaven Guild in Kinclaven church next Friday, March 6 at 7pm. All welcome.

An optics weekend will take place at the RSPB Loch Leven reserve this Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1.

Free advice will be available on binoculars and telescopes.

COFFEE MORNING

1st Kinross Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Associatio­n will hold its annual coffee morning this Saturday, February 29 in Church Centre in Kinross.

The event will begin at 10am to noon, and all the usual stalls will be available.

MILNATHORT FILMHOUSE

A screening of ‘The Lion King’ will be shown in Milnathort town hall on Saturday, February 29. Doors open at 2.30pm and the film will begin at 3pm.

Tickets cost £4 and a tuck shop will be available.

The movie ‘Downtown Abbey’ will be shown later that evening. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. It is for over 18s only.

ANNIVERSAR­Y CELEBRATIO­N

The next meeting will take place in the lower hall of the Church Centre in Kinross on Thursday, March 5. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT

A coffee morning to mark Fairtrade fortnight will be held in Kinross church centre on Saturday, March 7.

Doors open at 10am to noon, with tea, coffee and Fairtrade goodies available to sample.

PROBUS CLUB

Members of Kinross Probus Club were treated to a presentati­on on Aero Space Kinross from speaker Alisdair Stewart at the February meeting.

Alisdair is a man with a dream and he is determined to deliver his very ambitious project which will benefit the whole community.

He explained that when Kinross Partnershi­p held an economic forum six years ago, it was looking for ideas to help regenerate Kinross-shire.

From a long list of potential projects ‘Aero Space Kinross’ was born.

Alisdair went on to describe his vison and what has become the aims of Aero Space Kinross (ASK).

It will be a uniquely-themed aviation, astronomy and space flight science centre, based in the heart of Scotland and will form an aviation centre of excellence.

Alisdair said: “ASK will create an interactiv­e, fun, educationa­l and inspiratio­nal experience that will touch individual­s from every generation and will attract people from all over the UK and beyond, to this must see visitor destinatio­n.”
