Fitness is a way of life

-

The people of Perth will be in safe hands this weekend when former St Johnstone goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert hosts a gym open day.

Taking place on Saturday, all are invited to head down to his facility at 14 and 15 Ladeside Business Centre from 9am until 1.30pm.

Those in attendance will be able to try out the equipment, take part in fun fitness competitions and learn more about the gym.

“Saturday is going to be a day where the gym will be open for everyone to come down to have a look at the kit,”Cuthbert said.

“Some of the kit we have is the best in the world in terms of the manufacturerWatson.

“We have plenty of variety depending what your training goals are. We’ve got basically everything you would need in a modern gym.

“We’ve stepped away from the traditional treadmill and bike. Certainly for me, it’s not how I train people.

“Until you walk through the door, you won’t get the full vision of what we have.

“We’ll have a few wee fun competitions and the opportunity for someone to win membership for a month.”

Fitness and helping people achieve their goals is something Cuthbert is very passionate about.

He said:“First and foremost, football was the number one priority for me. Even when I stopped playing, I was getting involved in coaching.

“That didn’t necessarily work out so this was always going to be my other job, so to speak.

“When football ended, I haven’t looked to get back into it.

“I’m really proud to have brought this facility to life.”
