Home gig for Dougie

-

Top Perthshire musician Dougie MacLean is getting ready to play two gigs at a brand new venue later this month.

He will be performing on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21 at Cardney Steading in Butterstone.

This is the first concert to be held in the new venue, which opened earlier this year.

Set in 2000 acres of lochs and woodlands, the steading has views over the Perthshire countryside that has inspired many of Dougie MacLean’s songs.

As well as playing some new songs at the two gigs, he will also be performing classics such as‘Caledonia’,‘The Gael’ (from‘The Last of the Mohicans’film), ‘Ready for the Storm’,‘This Love Will Carry’and‘Turning Away’.

Dougie said he was looking forward to playing a venue so close to his

Dunkeld home:“I’m really proud to bring people to my home region - I’ve been doing it for years with our Perthshire Amber Festival, but it’s lovely to welcome people here in springtime.

“Perthshire has such natural beauty throughout the year, it’s great to be playing here and welcoming music fans from near and far to this brilliant new venue.”

Organisers of the gigs say they are expecting them to sell out, and the bookings that have already been made are from 10 different countries worldwide.

There will be a return shuttle bus to Cardney Estate from Dunkeld and pre-concert soup and pies as well as a licensed bar.

The concert starts at 8pm, and the doors will be open from 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £26 and can be bought from www.dougiemaclean.com/index. php/clunie-concert-tickets
