LAL hails its own legends

-

Live Active Leisure has commended the generosity of its customers amid the coronavirus outbreak - naming them ‘Live Active Legends’.

The sport and fitness provider has been taken aback by kind-hearted members of the public who are continuing to show support during the pandemic.

Live Active Leisure (LAL) has been backed by members choosing to continue paying their membership fee during lockdown.

Others have been donating via a charity checkout page.

“We’re incredibly grateful for every donation we receive and have chosen to name our donors Live Active Legends,”said marketing and communications manager Kelly Parker.

“And we give them legend status for good reason.

“They are helping us deliver life changing services from teaching children to swim, right up to keeping the most vulnerable in our community connected through activity.

“Our customers and team members often refer to themselves as a fitness family.

“And this coming together of people to offer support during this crisis shows just how deeply that bond runs.

“Live Active Leisure is an integral part of the wellbeing of Perth and Kinross residents and it is rewarding to know just how much our customers think of the services we provide and the people who deliver them.

“We would like to offer a very public thanks to everyone who has helped.”

LAL, which relies on membership payments and casual users for more than 50 per cent of its annual income, has partnered with Amazon Smile.

AmazonSmile allows LAL supporters to shop as normal with the added benefit being that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to the charitable trust.

Mrs Parker said:“Live Active Leisure is a registered charity with every penny made being reinvested back into our venues and to fund the services we provide to help our communities to live active.

“As we move towards the middle of the second month of closure of our venues, we have had to consider alternative means of generating income during the crisis.

“It is our aim to remain in contact with all of our customers, offering a virtual service to help them stay both physically and mentally well while in lockdown.

“Therefore, it is crucial that we consider all options available to support us in this endeavour.

“Amazon’s sales soared in the first three months of the year, as more home-bound people shopped online.

“The Amazon Smile partnership allows us to tap into that market at no cost to us, and no cost to our supporters.”

You can donate to Live Active Leisure by visiting www.liveactive.co.uk/ support-us or by unfreezing your membership. Live Active Leisure is offering daily workouts at 10am via its Facebook page as well as updating a new Live Active‘At Home’page dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages and abilities, families and people working from home.
