Themessageisclear: stayhome,savelives

Perth and Kinross’s four constituency politicians have come together to urge residents to stay at home.

Pete Wishart MP, John Nicolson MP, Roseanna Cunningham MSP and John Swinney MSP expressed concern that Boris Johnson’s address to the nation on Sunday had created confusion over what was allowed during lockdown.

The four SNP representatives said residents should still follow the “clear advice” from the Scottish Government.

Perth and Kinrossshire politicians have joined forces to urge their constituents to follow the clear advice from the Scottish Government and ‘stay at home’.

Following the “confusing” advice given by the prime minister on Sunday evening, the Perthshire politicians are reminding constituents that they are saving lives by staying indoors.

Mr Wishart said: “The advice from the first minister is clear: stay home, protect the NHS and save lives. This advice has not changed, despite the confusing messaging coming out of Downing Street.

“Whilst we are taking a collaborative approach across administrations, the science tells us that we are not able to make radical changes to the lockdown instructions, and we will make changes only when we believe it is safe to do so.”

Ms Cunningham MSP added: “However much we might want things to move faster, we have to follow the evidence and protecting lives has to be the number one deciding factor.”

John Nicolson MP said: “The prime minister’s ambiguous slogan is already causing uncertainty and worry.

“The first minister has been crystal clear and consistent in her messaging: stay home, protect the NHS, and save lives.”
