Historical society grant scheme

-

Organisations in Perth and Kinross who promote history can take advantage of a new grant scheme.

Abertay Historical Society has launched an emergency small grants scheme.

It is now inviting applications for grants of £250 to assist such groups and organisations which require financial assistance due to the crisis.

A total of 10 grants will be available. A spokesperson said: “We regret that we are only able to offer this modest amount, but hope that it can make some difference.

“At the same time we would encourage others to support local heritage bodies.”

Organisations eligible to apply for a grant include, but are not limited to, museums, archives, heritage groups, historical societies and archaeological societies.

Applicants must be a registered charity or properly constituted not-forprofit organisation of at least 12 months standing involved in local history or heritage-related activity in the Tayside and North Fife area.

Applications for a grant should include details of the aims and objectives of the applying organisation accompanied by a brief description of the reasons why they are seeking a grant. Full information may be found at https://abertay.org.uk/wp-content/ uploads/2020/05/AHS-Covid-19grant-funding.pdf

Applications should be made by 4pm on Friday, June 26, with the initial awarding of grants to be announced shortly thereafter. Any organisation urgently requiring a grant prior to that date should contact the society directly, and an earlier payment might be made under exceptional circumstances.

Applications and enquiries should be made to Matthew Jarron, general secretary of the Abertay Historical Society via email on museum@ dundee.ac.uk
