Say‘thank you’and help city

-

The company behind the Perth Card has launched a platform to help people say‘thank you’to frontline staff in the city.

Award-winning Miconex has set up a partnership with Collection Pot, to help communities collect money online and then load the funds onto local Town and City MasterCard prepaid cards to spend straightaway in local businesses.

All of the money collected will be loaded onto Perth Gift Cards to be spent in Perth’s great independent businesses, helping to secure jobs and support businesses as they continue to trade.

This will directly benefit the 70 plus city centre businesses that accept the card, helping to safeguard the city centre.

Miconex developed the first UK Mastercard Town and City Prepaid Card programme in Perth in 2015 and has since gone on to work with over 40 UK towns and cities to deliver local currency programmes.

In Perth alone nearly £500,000 of Perth cards have been sold, with this money directly supporting the local economy.

Colin Munro, Miconex managing director, said:“Miconex and Collection Pot working together makes so much sense.

“At times like this we all need to do what we can to help, we need to collaborate, innovate and provide resources to support local communities.

“This new partnership enables people to join forces to support key workers and volunteers as well as providing friends and family with a great gift that shows their support for their local businesses, at a time when local businesses are working hard to adapt and support the community.”
