Big moments are cherished
The COVID-19 lockdown has changed life beyond all recognition over the past few weeks.
And even though we are now making tentative steps to exit the restrictions, most people accept it will be some time before life returns to normality.
But that has not stopped families marking the big moments in their lives.
The coronavirus has not stopped all major life events.
The PA wants to hear from residents across the region who have had something to celebrate during the lockdown.
It could be a birthday, anniversary, the last day at school, or indeed anything that you have celebrated over the past few weeks.
Among those to have already marked a very special occasion is Harriet Nicoll.
She turned 100 on May 5 and celebrated with her friends at a care home in Luncarty, along with the traditional telegram from the Queen.
Harriet raised her eight children Alex, David, Johnny, Duncan, Sylvia, Thomas, Andrew and Robert - in the Friarton area of Perth and has watched her family grow immensely over the past century.
Her granddaughter Stacy Nicoll told the PA: “She is well-known in Perth and loved very much by neighbours and friends.
“That’s not to say life wasn’t hard for her raising her family, but her door was always open to welcome the kids from the street.
“She always said she would get a letter from the Queen and here we are.
“Harriet is currently in a care home in Luncarty and gets looked after from the best of staff. We as a family would like to thank everyone who works in Glenhelenbank for the love they have given her. We are so grateful for all they do.
“As we are in lockdown we can’t celebrate the way we would have loved to, but we all came together in the garden, keeping to social distance measures and raised a glass while a piper played as she was sat at a window to take it all in.”
