‘Despicable’ caravan site break-ins
Officers at Police Scotland are investigating five “utterly despicable” break-ins at a Perthshire caravan site.
The incidents all happened at the Aberfeldy Caravan Park over the weekend.
Stolen goods include prescription medicine and electrical items.
Councillor John Duff urged people to be on their guard.
He said: “It is utterly despicable that thieves have taken advantage of the current situation to steal the hard earned property of a number of caravanners and cause damage to their caravans.
“If anyone saw or heard anything which might assist the investigation, I would urge them to come forward and pass their information to the police.
“It is vital that we are all alert for anything suspicious. Many businesses and other premises are unoccupied at this time so please keep an eye out for them and report anything out of the ordinary.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that officers are investigating a total of five break-ins at a caravan site in Aberfeldy, which were reported to Police on Sunday, May 24.
“A number of items have been stolen, including electrical items and a quantity of prescription medication.
“The exact times of the incidents have yet to be established, but are believed to have taken place between Friday, May 22 and Sunday, May 24.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting incident 2009 of May 24. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
