Coo-ie! Farm’s cute twins named after Blairgowrie art trail

-

A well-kent face in Blairgowrie has given birth to twins during lockdown.

Gloria the Highland cow - who is the face of the popular Leslie Street Art Trail and lives at Bowland Trails on the outskirts of the Perthshire town – successfully delivered her adorable babies at the end of April, just five days before she turned 16.

And in tribute to Gloria’s standing as the face of the Leslie Street Art Trail, the calves have been named Leslie and Art, short for Arthur.

Mary Carter runs Bowland Trails – which offers Siberian husky experiences on the farm – with her husband John and their two young children.

She said:“Gloria and her sisters, Georgina, Glenda and Greta, came to Bowland Trails in 2015, along with two other family members, to live out their senior years here with our Glasclune fold of Highland Cattle.

“They are quiet, very easy going, gentle natured ladies, with strong family bonds Gloria’s sisters will almost always be found grazing away together - and they all appreciate getting groomed, or having a scratch.

“Gloria in particular loves to eat cattle food directly from our hand - which always makes for some fun cow selfies.

“We seem to have one set of twins born almost each year but were unaware that Gloria was expecting twins - and Gloria’s twins are the second set that have arrived here this spring.

“The other twins, Flossie and Flo, were born a week or so earlier to our 10-year-old Highlander, Fortune.”
