Perthshire Chamber is part of the Scottish Chamber of Commerce International Trade Partnership.

This project enables chambers across the network to join forces and host a series of inward missions to Scotland and outward missions throughout the world.

Currently these will be virtual missions and we really hope that this approach will help build the confidence and potential for many of our businesses and create important connections prior to visiting the countries.

Perthshire Chamber ran a survey earlier this year to identify current exporting and trade activities and ambitions and this subject was also included in the recent Business Barometer.

The results are being used to create a bespoke suite of support elements working in partnership with others including Perth and Kinross Council, Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International as well as our fellow chambers.

Sectors ripe for exporting include the more obvious items such as whisky and food stuffs, but also services such as training, knowledge and expertise.

For some Perthshire businesses trade growth will start with going outwith this area and into other parts of Scotland. For others it means developing business into England.

Whatever your reach and however far – UK, EU or globally, it is important to be equipped with as much information as possible.

We have been keeping the results up to date with businesses continuing to take the survey as things change and the demand for new market entry has grown during the current pandemic.
