Cat siblings found after three years

- ROBBIE CHALMERS

Two sibling cats have been reunited with their owners in Perthshire after going missing for three years.

Black and white felines Jasper and Onyx were recovered at the same location last Friday morning after over 1000 days of searching.

Jasper was posted as being‘found’a few nights prior to his capture, but some kind-hearted members of the public attempted to gain the cat’s trust before he could be caught.

A post in the Missing Pets, Perth and Kinross page read:“Jasper the cat has been happily reunited with his family after being missing for three years.

“Jasper was posted on the page a few nights ago as being‘found’.

“A few people had been looking out for him for quite sometime, making sure he was being fed and building up his trust so he could be caught.

“Jasper’s‘mum’recognised him straight away from his picture that we posted, he has quite a distinct smudge on his nose so thanks to that and other markings we were able to confirm it was definitely him.

“He has not forgotten his family and is currently happily curled up on the family bed purring and snoozing away.”

To search volunteers’surprise, Jasper’s sister Onyx also appeared shortly after he was caught.

“We found out both of them were straying in the exact same spot and with the help of volunteers Jasper was caught, shortly followed by his sister Onyx”, a follow up post read.

“After three years of being missing Jasper and Onyx are so happy to be properly reunited with their family.

“A huge thank you to everyone who was part of this three-year reunion.”
