Creative heart makes WeeWraith unique

Crieff base is just one way firm does things differently

-

When ad agency veteran Ian Davies was looking for a base for his new creative agency, he settled on somewhere a little different: Crieff.

“I’d previously been MD of an agency based on busy Baker Street in London and loved the buzz of the local community – I wanted to find something similar in Perthshire… and I found it, right here in Crieff.”

It is not just location that makes Wee Wraith different.

The staff take a uniquely creative approach to marketing, social media and branding – all team members have a creative background and they eschew the traditional marketing agency model, choosing not to use account managers as a buffer between clients and creatives.

Ian said: “I’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the world for over 20 years, but in the last five years I became frustrated with agencies’ structures.

“In this world of digital and social marketing you have to work quickly and connecting creatives directly with clients speeds up the process.”

Wee Wraith take an ‘ideas-led’ approach to marketing.

Everything it makes is driven by a creative idea that will help its clients to stand out from the crowd.

Big brands such as Scot JCB Group and the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, as well as local businesses like John Ross Smart Living and The Crieff Food Company, will testify to its success.

There is a vastly experienced team at Wee Wraith.

Lead creative Bernice has over 20 years ad agency experience and was senior creative at a top

South African agency. The team has also been joined by Crieff native David Jack; a creative photographer, filmmaker and licensed drone operator.

Bernice says: “By adding Dave to the team we can now create bespoke visuals for our clients. We’ll have an idea in the morning, Dave will shoot it in the afternoon, and we’ll be posting it in the evening.

“The key to marketing in the digital age is to create engaging content that gets noticed by prospective customers, and bespoke images and video get much higher engagement rates.”

COVID-19 has proved challenging for everyone, but this has not stopped Wee Wraith from growing the business, and the team’s skills, during lockdown.

“At the start of lockdown we approached a leading social media management tech company to see how we could use their technology to manage and monitor our client’s social media,” says Ian.

“Following lengthy training sessions with the guys in Chicago we are now the only certified agency partner in Perthshire and beyond.”

Original content and bestin-class management and reporting means that any business can enjoy better results from their social media marketing with Wee Wraith.

Next, it is going to launch a range of fixed-price marketing packages aimed at local businesses who want to get more from their marketing, for less.

As we all head into this new normal it’s clear that the only way to stand out from the crowd is to dare to be different.
