Drugs and £40,000 in cash were recovered after a raid at a property in Perth this week.

A “significant” number of luxury watches were also seized when cops swooped on Commercial Street on Tuesday, July 28.

Police say they discovered a “large amount of cannabis” during the incident. The drugs are believed to be valued at around £10,000.

A 40-year-old male and a 29-year-old female were arrested and are currently helping police with their inquiries.

The haul was the third discovery of drugs in Perth and Kinross in under a week.

It followed an incident on Thursday, July 23 when a fourfigure sum of drugs was seized following a brief chase on the M90 and A90. A car was stopped at Inchmichael at around 9.35pm.

Police say a quantity of heroin with an estimated value of £5500 was subsequently recovered, along with a quantity of valium

valued at approximately £2500.

It is also alleged a quantity of drugs, recovered from underneath the Friarton Bridge, had been thrown from the vehicle.

Two men were arrested and charged in relation to the incident.

And on the same day, an 18-year-old man was stopped by a police patrol on the outskirts of Crieff.

It is alleged he initially refused to stop for officers, and when he did a quantity of drugs was found in the vehicle.

The driver was also charged with numerous road traffic offences and his vehicle was seized.

Inspector Greg Burns, of the Tayside Road Policing Unit, has urged people to report any concerns about drugs to the force.

He said: “Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities.

“I want to reassure the people of Tayside that Police Scotland will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from the region, including conducting targeted patrols across our roads.

“If you have any information or concerns about drug misuse, do not hesitate to contact Police Scotland on 101 or report this anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
