The Scottish Crannog Centre is set to open its doors again this weekend for the first time in over four months.
The centre on the banks of Loch Tay closed in March due to the coronavirus lockdown.
But visitors will be welcome once more on Saturday, August 1 for tours.
Pre-booked tours will run every day and tickets are now available to book online and over the phone.
Friends of the Crannog subscriptions, gift certificates and gift cards are also available to purchase on the website.
A spokesperson said:“We’ll also be running extra morning tours and themed evening sessions throughout August.
“These tours can be booked over the phone and will run as private tours for your group. You can opt for a regular tour of the museum, crannog and outside demonstration areas, or if you’d like to try something a bit different, we have events such as meet the curator, handfasting and family reunions, storytelling around the fire, or family activities available to book.”
Despite being closed, there was some good news for the centre during lockdown.
In June, it received the news that its application to purchase a large piece of land on the north end of Loch Tay had been successful. Through the community asset transfer process offered by Forestry and Land Scotland, the centre was able to prove a case for expansion.
The spoksperson added:“The current site on which the Scottish Crannog Centre is built has reached capacity and is unsuitable for the progressive plans the Crannog Centre has for future projects.
“The area, called Dalerb, is roughly 12 times larger than the current museum and will help to ensure that we as an organisation can continue to work towards our mission caring for and making accessible the find of Scottish crannog excavations for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone.”
