A politician has called on jet ski users to behave responsibly on the River Tay at Perth.
Murdo Fraser MSP said he has been contacted by Fair City residents who live near to the river.
Their concerns centre around the noise being created by the powerful machines and the potential disturbance to wildlife in the area.
Mr Fraser stressed he will look into what can be done to improve the situation.
“I have been contacted by residents who have expressed their concerns about the excessive noise and disturbance caused by jet ski users on the River Tay, particularly at weekends,”
Mr Fraser explained.
“I understand the concerns they have, both about the noise and also the potential disturbance to wildlife in the area.”
He raised the matter with Perth and Kinross Council but he said: “I do understand their hands are effectively tied about what can be done by current legislation.”
Jet skis are often seen powering down the River Tay, through the bridges and around the Moncreiffe Island area.
Mr Fraser said: “I would ask those who operate the jet skis to behave in a responsible fashion and I will continue to investigate to see what can be done to improve the situation.”
