Michael is leader of pack on first album

- MELANIE BONN

The Perth musician behind a COVID-19 anthem released his debut album this month.

When singer/songwriter Michael Lumby released ‘Stay at Home’ the tune was perfectly in step with the times. That song featured guest singers Christopher McDougall, Michael Galloway and Dylan John.

Michael is back again with a new collaborative recording, an album titled ‘Wolves on the Mountain’.

At the start of 2019 Michael, a production engineer, started up his Drumbeg Studio Podcast, which aimed to showcase the Scottish talents of the performing arts industry.

His isolation song ‘Stay At Home’, released in May, racked up hundreds of views of Youtube.

Michael is excited about his latest collaborative venture ‘Wolves on the Mountain,’ created with the help of Scone keyboard player Michael Galloway.

Galloway also appears as lead singer on ‘Creatures Jungle Mix’ and shares the lead vocals with Lumby on ‘My True Love’.

Four other singers – Christopher McDougall, Lola Elvira Dorado, Fiona Reid and Calum Campbell – also feature throughout the album.

Actor/musician Christopher, who is originally from Perth, has experience in composing and arranging music, as well as writing an entire musical and stand-alone songs.

His voice can be heard on the track ‘Knight’s Nightmare’ and he also helped out with backing vocals.

Lola, from Spain, moved to Scotland to study popular music at Perth College and has recently released her first work, ‘We Have To Stop It’.

She appears on ‘That’s What a War Does’ on this new release.

Calum Campbell is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Kinrossshire who made his first foray into public performance as drummer for local band Longstay.

His voice can be heard on the 50s-style song ‘Maybe I’ll See You Tonight’.

The album is now available to stream on all the digital music stores and CD copies can be ordered from Michael Lumby at https://ditto.fm/wolves-onthe-mountain
