Library book ‘click and collect’ service extended to rural areas

-

Culture Perth and Kinross (CPK) is extending its Click and Collect library book service to include communities in Aberfeldy, Crieff and Kinross.

The move follows the successful launch of Click and Collect in Auchterarder, Pitlochry and the AK Bell Library in Perth.

The service will operate from Breadalbane Community Library, Strathearn Community Library and Loch Leven Community Library.

All three libraries reopened their doors last week with new public opening hours.

From September 11, 2020, customers will be able to reserve their books online via the library catalogue, make a request by email or call the dedicated Click and Collect phone line 01738 444949 to place their order.

Library customers will be given a collection slot to allow them to collect their reserved books. Collections start from September 18 at the libraries on Friday evenings between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

CPK chief executive, Helen Smout, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the success of Click and Collect so far, and we are delighted to expand this offer further.

“The feedback we’ve had has been very positive to date. If you are unable to take advantage of our Click and Collect service, we also have an excellent e-library resource, which is free to all our customers and available through our website.”

Email clickandcollect@culturepk.org. uk or call on 01738 444949 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm to find out more and make a request.

To sign up go to https://www.culturepk. org.uk/libraries/join-the-library/ or call 01738 444949 to do this over the phone.
