It would appear that confusion is the new byword of the

Perth and Kinross Council Conservative administration.

At a time when they are supposed to be getting on with helping to steer Perth and Kinross out of the COVID pandemic, the Tory councillors are distracted with their own differences of opinion and incompetence.

In the last few weeks we have seen Councillor Illingworth stating that the COVID pandemic is over, only to be rebuked by his fellow Tory councillors and list MSPs.

It would appear that disagreeing with colleagues is catching within the Perth Tories.

Councillor Angus Forbes, the convener of the enterprise and infrastructure committee for the whole of Perth and Kinross, cast doubts on the future of the Cross Tay Link Road, whilst the leader of the Conservative group gives it his absolute backing.

It was all topped off with a spectacular own goal from Councillor Duff of Highland ward endorsing a Conservative campaign insisting that the Scottish Government did not sufficiently support outdoor educational facilities, conveniently forgetting his own Conservative administration has closed two such facilities, one of which amazingly was in his own ward.

We really need a clarity of message from the party that runs Perth and Kinross Council. The people of Perthshire deserve better than this ‘Council of Chaos’.
