A Perth man appeared via video link-up at the sheriff court this week on multiple rape and abduction charges, as well as allegations of sexual assault.

Thirty-six-year-old Dane Lundie is accused of raping four different women at houses in Perth and Kinross on various occasions between 2013 and 2018.

It is also claimed he detained three of the females against their will, one by tying her arms and legs and threatening to burn her with a lighter, and another by brandishing a cut throat razor and threatening to kill her.

He was fully committed for trial during a brief hearing before Sheriff Lindsay Foulis.

Lundie was represented by solicitor Anne Duffy.

No motion was made for bail and he was remanded in custody.

The accused faced a catalogue of 11 charges, including assaulting the first woman at a flat in the city on different occasions between January 1, 2013, and February 9, 2016.

He is said to have repeatedly punched her on the head and body, repeatedly pulled her hair and struck her on the eye with a metal grinder.

He is then said to have grabbed her clothing and pulled her by the body, before holding a knife to her throat and strangling her, all to her injury.

Lundie is also charged with raping the same woman between the same dates at the Perth property.

A third charge alleges that on various occasions over the three-year period, he abducted the woman by preventing her from leaving the address by hiding the keys and threatening her with violence.

On one occasion he is said to have tied her legs together, tied her arms behind her back and inserted a sock into her mouth.

It is then claimed that he used a lighter, threatened to burn her and detained her against her will.

Lundie is alleged to have raped a second victim - at another house in the city - on various occasions between August 1 and November 22, 2014, while a further charge claims that he also sexually assaulted her.

A third woman is said to have been raped by him on various occasions between March 1 and June 28, 2018, at a property in Kinross-shire.

He is also accused of abducting that female between June 26 and 28, 2018, by locking her in the address, threatening her with violence, brandishing a cut throat razor, threatening to kill her and detaining her there against her will.

An eighth charge accuses him of raping a fourth woman between June 1 and June 28, 2018, at the same Kinrossshire property and sexually assaulting her on various occasions between June 26 and 28, also 2018.

Lundie is further accused of abducting the same person between June 26 and 28, 2018, by locking her in a house and preventing her from leaving by threatening her with violence.

He is also said to have brandished a cut throat razor at her and detained her against her will.

A final charge claims that on various occasions between June 26 and 28, 2018, he again raped the same woman while she was asleep at the property.

Lundie will have to attend a video identification parade given adequate notice.
