Packaging firm gives CHAS a welcome boost with £5k donation
A service which cares for children with life-shortening conditions in their own homes has welcomed a £5000 donation from a specialist packaging company whose managing director lives in Kinross-shire.
David Frame of Barnstaplebased firm Barum and Dewar, whose daughter Rachel was previously supported by the service provided by Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), made the donation on the company’s behalf.
David, who lives near Kinross, said:“I’m proud to have made this donation on behalf of Barum and Dewar to CHAS as it is a wonderful charity which was there for our family when we needed it most and continues to provide care to so many families across Scotland.
“Barum and Dewar is very much a values-led company with strong core values which encourage charitable giving. We believe strongly in the concept of‘doing good as you do well’.
“2020 was an incredibly hard year for so many, the charitable sector included, and our businesses, like so many, had to quickly adapt to change.
“With the support of our teams we have continued to grow, providing us with the opportunity to give something back in this way.”
CHAS philanthropy manager Rachel Ketola said:“On behalf of CHAS I would like to thank David and Barum and Dewar for this very generous gesture which comes at a time when donations are needed more than ever.
“Because of the coronavirus pandemic, our CHAS at Home service is in high demand and this donation will help enable us to continue our work supporting families within their own homes right across Scotland.”
