Cottage boosts Cateran Trail

-

Four-star Bolthole Cottage is helping access to the rural east Perthshire countryside step up by joining the Cateran Trail business support scheme.

The Cateran Trail skirts just past Bolthole Cottage, which is also a member of the Cyclists, Walkers and Pets Welcome Schemes.

Mental and physical health and wellbeing are more important than ever during these ongoing times of social distancing and restrictions, so getting outdoors to facilities like the Cateran Trail is a great way to look after these aspects of ourselves.

The Supporting the Cateran Trail scheme was launched in 2020 and allows hotels, B&Bs and businesses of all sizes in Perthshire and Angus along the route to broaden their green credentials and contribute towards the improved access and maintenance of the much-loved route.

Bolthole Cottage will help contribute towards PKCT’s efforts to improve access along the Cateran Trail and keep it one of Scotland’s Great Trails by collecting a voluntary donation of £1 on every overnight stay.

Lesley and David Anderson, owners of Bolthole Cottage, said:“Supporting the work of PKCT is a genuine win-win, for us and we are especially delighted to be supporting the development and maintenance of the CateranTrail.

“The trail is a true gem of Scottish nature, wildlife and walking. We regard ourselves as privileged to have our cottage sitting on such a stunning Scottish countryside asset.”
