It was good to catch up with each other, and everybody shared their ups and downs since we last met in December.

Betty Stark had produced a 30-question quiz on Scottish affairs which was won by Ginnie Wilkie, closely followed by Carol MacGill and Kathleen Scott.

There was a bit of ‘official business’ which was quickly and efficientl­y dealt with, and the future of the Institute discussed in view of the uncertaint­y due to COVID.

Members and friends were asked to consider how they viewed the future, should things open up again in the autumn and asked to pass their views on to the secretary.

A new committee and a programme will be required.

One of the members showed the Cinderella doll and a jumper she had knitted since Christmas. Details are to be supplied about a community project for circulatio­n to all members and friends.

The next virtual coffee morning will be at 10.30am on Thursday, March 18 when members and friends are asked to bring their favourite recipes to share.

The gesture was part of the Inner Wheel’s celebratio­ns of Internatio­nal Women’s Day on March 8. Clubs across all areas of Great Britain and Ireland were taking part.

Inner Wheel district one is the most northern of the 29 districts that make up the Associatio­n of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland.

It covers most of the north and east of Scotland.

There are 24 clubs in the district with around 680 members.

The associatio­n is a women’s organisati­on based on friendship and dedication to service.
