Jobs created at new home care venture
A home care company is being set up to help older residents across Perth and Kinross.
Home Instead Perthshire will help people living in Scone, Auchterarder, Crieff, Blairgowrie, Pitlochry and the surrounding areas.
And the enterprise is also looking to employ 50 new caregivers for the Perthshire team.
Owner Saqib Rehman said he identified Perthshire as an area with an elderly population that would particularly benefit from care from their own homes.
Saqib said that during the pandemic, older people“need support with their daily lives more than ever”, and“want to continue to stay in their own home rather than move into a care home”.
“We are so excited to be able to bring our special blend of home care to the area,”Saqib said.
“We feel passionately that our older generation should be able to continue living in their own home for as long as possible.
“Home is where we have so many memories and feel safe.
“Thanks to our fabulous team of caregivers, we are able to provide support and companionship which allows them to do just that.
“I spent 10 years in a senior HR role, so I know the benefits of a valued workforce and I will apply this in my role leading Home Instead Perthshire.
“At Home Instead, we deliver exceptional relationship-led and personalised care, and that can only happen thanks to our dedicated caregivers.”
Registered care manager Sara Watson, who lives locally, has a background in caring and has been honoured by Alzheimer’s Scotland for developing a volunteer-led service in the homes of people living with dementia.
Sara added:“Our well-defined values shape the care we offer. It’s tailored according to the individual client’s needs.
“Our care is relationship-led, and we ensure this by matching clients with their caregivers based on similar interests and personality. It should be a joy when your caregiver visits.”
