Teens warned after drunken park havoc
Cops called out as 200 youngsters congregate
Perth councillors have urged residents to “act responsibly” after bouts of drunken behaviour and littering over the past two weekends.
Police officers had to deal with 16 drunk teens as crowds of up to 200 gathered at both Inches in Perth last Friday and Saturday.
Cops say hundreds of bottles were left strewn across the grass describing the acts as “selfish and wreckless”.
An 18-year-old woman was charged with purchasing alcohol for under aged drinkers.
The weekend before ambulances were sent to North Inch three times in one day to deal with drunk youths. Paramedics and police found teens unconscious and having vomited or urinated on themselves.
Ten young people were taken to Perth Police Station on Saturday, April 17 due to antisocial behaviour, with similar incidents over Easter weekend.
Police issued warnings urging parents to be mindful of where their children were.
Officers, who have vowed to continue their crackdown on anti-social behaviour, say the area has been blighted by litter and broken glass.
Officers on patrol last weekend did, however, add that it was “notable” that incidents of anti-social behaviour, while still occurring, had “decreased considerably”.
Inspector Kerry Lynch said: “The Inches are public spaces used by everyone, and it is extremely selfish and thoughtless not to leave them as you find them and put your rubbish in bins as appropriate.
“Our officers will be out again this coming weekend to deal with any issues that may arise.”

Chris Ahern said: “The kind of anti-social behaviour that has been highlighted over the last couple of weeks is totally unacceptable.
“Littering is a massive issue and to be fair it is not just young people littering on the Inches - it is people everywhere.
“Our police have a tough enough job as it is without having to spend time sorting out and acting on this behaviour.
“I ask everyone, not just the young people, to please act responsibly, think about what they are doing and leave the area as you yourself would like to find it.”
Fellow ward councillor Andrew Parrott added: “I would simply call on people, while COVID restrictions are still in place, to comply with those restrictions. As for litter and broken bottles and drunken behaviour, I would urge people to act responsibly and not leave litter and broken bottles.”
