Auchterarder firm expands to capital

- ROBBIE CHALMERS

A luxury retailer established in Auchterarder is expanding, despite the pandemic, by opening a store in the heart of Edinburgh.

OLIAMI will replace the lot previously held by the Holland Cooper franchise on Multrees Walk, which is already home to Harvey Nichols, Johnstone’s of Elgin, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry and Burberry.

The outlet opened on April 26 situated on the pedestrian walkway that joins St Andrew Square with the St James Centre, currently under construction.

OLIAMI is a Scottish independent luxury multi-brand store owned by husband and wife team Murray and Nadia Alexander.

The store was born out of Nadia’s passion for offering exceptional customer service and has been based on the Lang Toon’s High Street.

The couple have a number of other businesses including Algo, a construction firm also based in Perth.

Managing director Nadia Alexander said: “Looking ahead to 2021 after the COVID-19 lockdown the high street needs an injection of interesting opportunities and we feel this meets that brief.

“We plan to bring a luxury shopping experience to Multrees Walk which will complement the current retail offering.

“Changing the business model in these times, to become a stand alone multi-brand is perhaps not what people expect but we firmly believe in the high street and our unique customer experience concept.

“We believe that our store as well as the landmarks and dining opportunities will make for a brilliant day out in the capital.

“We can’t wait to welcome our customers to our new store and look forward to the re-opening of retail in Edinburgh.”
