WORKING FOR YOU IN PERTHSHIRE

-

Perth businesswoman Wendy Watson had a strong work ethic from an early age, working in the family hotel business aged just 13.

And after a career with the private sector and teaching she has come full circle as owner of local niche IT business Build Your Skill.

The busy mum-of-two, who is also a partner in the family property business, offers specialist training and resources for individuals and small and large companies alike.

“Regardless of the size or type of business, there is always a need for IT Training,” she said. “Lots of organisations are using Teams and/or Zoom now and the challenge of virtual learning is constant.

“There is also an increase in people moving to Microsoft 365. I deliver Microsoft Office 365 training to businesses and schools.

“I have my own laptops installed with Office 365 Business Premium and can offer half and full day training at their own location or in my training room based at Perth Airport.”

Wendy’s links to education are also key to her understanding schools’ IT requirements.

She explained: “Up until April 2015, I was a Principal Teacher of Business Education, at Breadalbane School, Aberfeldy, having spent 11 years there specialising in Administration, IT and Business Management.

“Prior to entering the teaching profession, I also spent 12 years in the private sector working in both the hospitality and transport industries.

“I know it’s incredibly tough in schools at the moment with diminishing budgets, the expectation to produce high quality resources suitable for bi and perhaps tri-level teaching and simply not enough hours in the day (evenings, weekends and holidays) to get everything done.

“My resources are there to support. I am simply offering low cost (and where possible ‘paperless’) resources, for business, IT related topics that support teaching.
