Manon’s a national winner with her outdoor bottle art

-

A pupil at Perth High School has been chosen from thousands across the UK as one of 10 winners in a national competition.

S1 pupil Manon Schembri entered theYouth Bottle Moment contest and will now see her design created by the illustrator Rob Murray on a T-shirt and mug and presented to her either in person or virtually by TV star Ben Shephard of Good Morning Britain, who picked out the winners.

The 12-year-old’s bottle-inspired drawing was of a beautiful mountain

Manon and her winning design (inset) scene with a flowing river which came outside of the bottle, showing a real skill and talent for art.

Your Bottle Moment is the one thing someone most like to do again when everything is better and back to normal.

Manon’s was to go wild swimming and hiking with her family when the restrictions were lifted as she is a keen explorer and loves the outdoors.

The competition became available to S1 pupils at Perth High School who were part of the Virtual Art Club.

The Virtual Art Club was organised by

Miss Mcgoldrick, a probation art and design teacher within the school.

The club ran virtually during lockdown through Google Classroom as a way to promote mental health and wellbeing and as a way for learners to relax and enjoy art away from their computer screens.

Each week the pupils were set competitions which were live and some stretched across the whole UK. Other competitions offered to the pupils were a Lidl illustration competition and a branding competition with ITV.
