Chance to learn more about college courses

- ROBBIE CHALMERS

Perth College UHI has announced two unique events offering potential applicants’ the opportunity to discuss courses starting in September.

There is a campus event and separate online virtual showcase event set to take place over the next two days.

On Tuesday, May 25 selected department teams - food studies and hospitality, sport and fitness, hairdressing, beauty therapy and wellbeing and musical and technical theatre - are available for visitors to speak to staff face-toface and showcase their department facilities at the Crieff

Road campus.

And then on Wednesday, May 26 the first ever Choose College Virtual Showcase will be held online.

The free exhibition and information event will see 19 colleges from all over Scotland come together on one virtual platform showcasing their courses and sharing information about college life.

A Perth College UHI spokesperson added: “Supported by Perth College UHI, the virtual showcase also provides an excellent opportunity for parents, carers, teachers, and careers advisers to ask as many questions as they like about life at college – from the comfort of their own homes.

“The Choose College Showcase will run twice, between 3-5pm and 7-9pm, giving attendees the flexibility to choose their preferred session slot, or even attend both.

“See www.perth.uhi.ac.uk/events to secure a spot.”

The event follows on from the recent #ChooseCollege campaign, which saw Scotland’s colleges come together to share positive stories about how vital colleges are to the educational, economic and community health of the country.

The six-week campaign reached over 8.8 million people on social media.
