Firms invited to pitch for Hub

-

Perth and Kinross Council is inviting companies to bid for work to refurbish Letham Community Wellbeing Hub worth an estimated £3.5 million.

The local authority published a contract notice late last week asking companies to send their bids for the work to procurement staff by the third week of July.

The notice shows the council expects the company it ends up hiring to finish the refurbishment within 12 months of being appointed the principal contractor.

It says the work will involve moving the gym from the first floor to the ground floor, making modifications to the building to make it more energy efficient and refurbishing all its showers, changing areas and toilets.

The successful contractor will also be expected to create a new cafe and soft play area and new office accommodation for staff too.

The contract notice reads:“PKC are seeking to appoint a main contractor to work collaboratively with the design team, PKC representatives and the client to assist with the delivery of their proposed plans to refurbish and extend Letham Community Wellbeing Hub.

“Bidders will be required to provide a minimum of two examples of works carried out in the past five years that demonstrate that they have the relevant experience to deliver the work as described in ... the contract notice. Examples should demonstrate that the bidder has experience of delivering works of a similar size, complexity and value to public buildings in an urban environment or similar.”

Companies have until July 14 to send their bids.
