Benefit chance for kids starting school
Girlguiding groups in Perth and Kinross are on the lookout for volunteers who can support local groups.
Groups in the region have had to adapt to new COVID-19 rules and many have continued meeting online.
As restrictions ease, groups are now meeting outside and are making plans to return to indoor meetings soon.
Determined to carry on guiding during this challenging time, guiding groups such as the 1st Auchterarder Brownies have continued to do guiding in new and innovative ways.
They moved their weekly meetings online, taking part in various workshops including baking sessions, yoga, clay-making, drama and science experiments.
They also posted activities to their private Facebook group and directly out to families so that girls could work towards earning their badges at home.
Susan Wishart, leader of the 1st Auchterarder Brownies and district commissioner for Auchterarder for Girlguiding Perth and Kinross, said: “I love taking part in guiding.
“It’s fun, challenging and something completely different from my work. It has boosted my confidence and made me realise what I am capable of.
“Whether online or in person, as a leader you get to take part in random activities with girls and have fun too, all things I would not be doing normally. How often as an adult do you get to play with slime or be silly dancing outside in the rain?”
The youngsters are also passionate about the Auchterarder group.
